About
The concept for AA Demos surfaced in response to the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act (SOCPA) 2005. This is a piece of British legislation that prohibits protest within a 1km exclusion zone around the Houses of Parliament (HoP) in Westminster. AA Demos were created for those who want to challenge SOCPA, but lack the confidence, energy or time to do it themselves. They are a way for people to take power back, a way of sharing a political ideology, a way of reclaiming our right to freedom of expression.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

You can protest about almost anything. Nonsense and humour are welcomed, but obscene, offensive and extremist protests will not be tolerated out of politeness. If you've already paid for a protest deemed inappropriate, your money will not be refunded. Your protest is represented by your mini protest board, so the protest will last for as long as the board does. We have no control over this but you do have the certainty of your pictures. The money funds the project; the materials needed in order to create your protest. Payments should be made via Paypal. Other methods of payment will not be accepted. Currently, the maximum image size is 2736 x 3648 pixels for portrait images, and 3648 x 2736 for landscape images. We try our best to ensure a great capture, but photos will not be retouched or retaken.
AA Demos is a production by BlackBook Activists. The concept was created by BlackBook Activists, inspired by Mark Thomas.
